No Longer Christmas

The leftover Turkey,
   G               C
Is mostly now all gone,
       E7                F
The Christmas tree is still up,
              G
And there’s still some carols on,
We listened to old Charlie’s speech,
That was rather queer,
I’ve been listening to Elizabeth,
            G          G7 C
For almost fifty years,

            C
Well it’s no longer Christmas,
         F               C
But it’s not quite New Year,
       F        C
Does anyone remember,
          G                 C
What the hell we’re doing here.

Do you know what day it is?
I’ve slept in again till noon,
I’m sure that New Year’s party,
Must be happ-en-ing soon,

I’ve eaten so much cheese and cake,
I’m struggling to move,
Just a little more of the pudding,
And my outlook will improve,

This window out of space and time,
Is really rather odd,
I’m not wearing any pants,
And once again I start to nod,

Did someone put the bin out,
What day do they collect,
The Hot Cross Buns are in the shops,
Just as I’d expect,
