G Em Can you spare a room in Palestine, C G For a mother and a child, Am D We’ve just come up from Bethlehem, C D Where the father was exiled, They’ve taken him to prison now, I don’t know what to do, I am tired, scared and hungry, C D G And my options are so few, Em D Just a stable, for the Lord, C G Is all I can afford, C G I was promised flights of angels, C G And gold presents from the king, Am Em But the army of Jerusalem, C D G Left me with nothing, The Roman soldiers mock me, As walk amongst the stone, And the twisted steel and concrete, That was once so many homes, I can hear the missiles falling, And fires burning wild, But I have a child that needs me, And the world still needs my child, I see a star above us, Burning brightly in the sky, Is it there to light the way, A beacon to steer by, Or is it just another drone, Waiting to drop its hate, On a mother and a child, Who learned the truth too late,
