C G The Library is for learning, D G Library is for fun, C G A town with a good library, C D G Is better for everyone, G C Yass it had a library, D G But the building it was old, C G Leaking roof and peeling walls, C D In winter much too cold, Em G So the council worked together, Em G And fought for many years, C G For a good design and funding, Em D G Across three different mayors. Now with the library open, The futures looking bright, For coming generations, Imagination taking flight, A place to come together, Roll a dice or write a song, Explore a world of knowledge, Build a mind that's wise and strong, There's also new council chambers, To steer the growing town, Streamed live on the internet, You can watch it all go down, While theres still a bit of work to do, This is a brilliant start, To bring our town together, In a vibrant thriving heart.
