The land at Hamilton Rise estate near Yass went on sale in 2021, it is still empty. Advice from the developer is that the hold up is with council/state processes.
G D C G There ain’t nobody living, at Hamilton Rise, D C G The country is broke, it should be no surprise, G D C G When you can’t afford to eat, ambition it dies, C G D G That’s why no one is living at Hamilton Rise, Fancy council chambers, cost 50 million bucks, But to keep kids in clothes, your just out luck, Fine things for the wealthy, and nothing for the poor, If you can’t pay your way son, we’ll show you the door, Burn down our heritage, and leave to the weeds, Investors can’t turn a dollar, they go elsewhere for greed, Can’t afford new books for learning, the cycle keeps us down, I’m afraid that I am watching, the dying of our town. Rich folks out from Canberra, demanding that we change, It’s no longer the country, just Gungahlin’s northern stage, We need some better leaders, we need bit of hope, Fair and living wages, not a dusty fly-blown slope.
